"GREEN LANTERN" (2011) Review

Green seemed to be the dominate colors regarding costumed crime fighters back in 2011. That particular year marked the end of the television series, "SMALLVILLE", which featured Superman's colleague, the Green Arrow. Last January saw the release of "THE GREEN HORNET", starring Seth Rogen and Jay Chou. And later that summer, Warner Brothers Studios released their adaptation on the DC Comics superhero, the Green Lantern. ( Read more... )

”THE GREEN HORNET” (2011) Review

My memories of the costumed hero, the Green Hornet, are pretty sketchy. I can only recall actor Van Williams portraying the character in the short-lived television series from the mid-1960s, with future martial arts icon, Bruce Lee, portraying his manservant and partner-in-crime fighting, Kato. But if I must be honest, I never saw any of the episodes from the series. My memories of Williams and Lee as the Green Hornet and Kato were limited to their guest appearances on the ABC series, ”BATMAN”.

”BATMAN BEGINS” (2005) Review

When Christopher Nolan’s reboot of the BATMAN franchise first made its debut during the summer of 2005, many critics and moviegoers hailed it as the second coming. They also viewed it as a vast improvement over the four films released between 1989 and 1997. Since then, ”BATMAN BEGINS” has been overshadowed by its 2008 sequel, ”THE DARK KNIGHT”. After a recent viewing of the 2005 movie, I must admit that I have a deeper attachment for it. ( Read more... )
